Pregnancy Log: Week 27

This is the last week of the second trimester! I know I've been saying this a lot, but time reeeeally flies! We came home yesterday from having a short holiday in the Lake District with my in-laws. We had a fun time together—so fun that I didn't even take a 26 week belly bump photo. Oh well! I feel like I grew a lot this past week. What do you all think? Can you see the difference from week 25 to week 27?

Week 27:
Symptoms: The shortness of breath is still there...but I realized that it only happens after I eat too much! So I guess I gotta limit my food now! Ha!

How I'm feeling: Tired but excited! Baby boy is responsive to touch now. It's been fun pressing on my belly and feeling him kick back! :P

Cravings: Still omelettes and olives! Ha!

Aversions: The chicken + meat aversions continue...but they aren't as bad as they were.

Anything To Report?: The baby room is FINISHED!

Pregnancy Log: Week 26

I'm so excited to meet our little baby boy! The more we purchase for him, the more real it all feels. The room is nearly complete. We're waiting one one piece of furniture, which we'll hopefully be able to pick up and assemble today, and our yellow rug. After that, the room will finally be done! We keep walking into the room and sitting on the chair and imagining what our lives will be like in just three short months. Our lives will be completely different. But they will also be a whole new and unimaginable kind of exciting. I CANNOT WAIT!

Week 26:
Symptoms: I think the throwing up is fiiiiinally over with! The shortness of breath is still going on but I just picked up a prescription for more iron tablets...so hopefully that should mellow out too!

How I'm feeling: Excited! We are going to Ikea today to pick up the last piece of furniture for our baby room...and we got our pram yesterday! Everything is progressing and we're so excited to meet our little one in 98 days (give or take)!

Cravings: Still omelettes and olives! Ha!

Aversions: The chicken + meat aversions continue...

Anything To Report?: Nope...

Pregnancy Log: Week 25

The speed that time flies will never cease to amaze me. I cannot believe our baby will be here within 15 weeks. That seems like the blink of an eye!

This week was a productive one in the Walker home! We did A LOT of work on the baby room. (Doesn't "baby room" sound wayyy cuter than "nursery?" I sure think so.) We finished painting, we put up an adorable lamp from Ikea, we got new carpet, AND we bought our baby room furniture and started assembling it all! I can't wait to show everyone pictures. But in the meantime, you'll all have to wait because I am one of these perfectionists that refuses to show people pictures of the incomplete (hence, I will never be a "proper" food blogger).

Anyways, here's this week's pregnancy log!

Week 25:
Symptoms: I threw up three days ago so I guess the morning sickness isn't completely over yet! Ha! And I'm still suffering from extreme tiredness and crazy shortness of breath! I did have a breakthrough though. I'm realizing now that the shortness of breath mainly happens when I am sitting down...so I guess I gotta be more active to avoid it!

How I'm feeling: Excited! I can't wait til the baby room is done!

Cravings: Still omelettes and olives! Ha!

Aversions: The chicken + meat aversions continue...

Anything To Report?: Nope...

Life Hack

Life hack to keep the house warm during winter!

Set ceiling fans on clockwise rotation

At school, we were taught that cold air is denser than warm air. In the house, the warm air stays near the ceiling, and this is where ceiling fans come in. Ceiling fans can be set to rotate in the other direction, that is, clockwise. When set at a low speed, the fan can drive the warm air down while sucking the cold air up and away from you.

TV Shows

I'm starting to lose track of all of the shows Craig and I watch. Some of our shows, we are waiting for the newest season to be added to Netflix. Others, we watch live the day after it airs on Hulu. I'm compiling a list here, mainly for my own benefit, but also as a recommendation to others because, let's face it, these shows are the cream of the crop.

1. Person of Interest - waiting for next season on Netflix
2. White Collar - waiting for next season to air
3. The Blacklist - watching the day after it airs!
4. Chuck - fell a little behind...we'll catch up eventually!
5. The Office - rewatching it...because we can!

I'm drawing a blank. I think that might be it. Anyone have any recommendations for us?

Six month pregnant!! How did we get here so fast?! Time surely flies!

Week 24:
Symptoms: I haven't thrown up for a whole week! I think morning sickness has finally subsided! I'm still suffering from extreme tiredness and crazy shortness of breath though!

How I'm feeling: It's hard to breathe :(

Cravings: Still omelettes. And plain M&M's.

Aversions: The chicken + meat aversions continue...

Anything To Report?: I finally ordered some maternity shirts....My belly has been hanging out of my regular shirts! Hahaha!

Rainy Day Ramblings

I'm starting to outgrow my pre-pregnancy clothes! Yesterday, feeling quite desperate, I placed an order on Asos for four maternity shirts. I figured, no one wants to see me tummy hanging out of my regular shirts!

I'm so ready for accessorizing and layering this fall/winter. This is my favorite kind of weather: boots, sweaters, and scarves weather! And now that I have some extra maternity style inspiration (thanks Anna Saccone!) I feel like I can handle putting together new outfits even with my extra baggage! :P

Anyways, I'm sitting here on the sofa [nearly unable to move because of the massive breakfast burrito I just ate] enjoying this rainy, fall day. I have so much to do but I can't bring myself to get moving...partly because I am full and partly because this shortness of breath thing is really getting the best of me. And that brings me to the main purpose of this post. Moms out there, have any of you experienced this paralyzing shortness of breath while pregnant? I know shortness of breath is a common pregnancy symptom, but I feel like I get it reeeeally bad to the point where I can't even function! Advice or suggestions, anyone?

iPhone 6

Can I just be excited for a moment? I know this is what twitter is for...but I wanted to say a little more than 140 characters worth.

One more week til Craig's phone upgrade date. That means...one more week til I might possibly be able to get an iPhone 6!

I need to learn how to not count my chickens before they hatch.

Pregnancy Log: Week 23 & Gender Reveal!

Next week, I'll officially be 6 months pregnant! It's CRAZY how fast time is flying! The baby room is [nearly] done now and I am so excited to finally furnish it! Craig and I keep walking into the room and admiring our hard work....It's so surreal that in a few short months, when we walk in there, there will be a little baby inside too!

Week 23:
Symptoms: Extreeeeeme tiredness...I can't seem to get out of bed every morning & shortness of breath. I thought the morning sickness had finally started to simmer down cuz I hadn't thrown up for a whole week...but then, I threw up this morning so I guess not!

How I'm feeling: Good, but tired!

Cravings: Omelettes...I've literally had one for breakfast every single morning for the past few weeks.

Aversions: Still meats...although I'm finally able to eat more chicken than I've been able to eat throughout this pregnancy so far.

Anything To Report?: YES! After much suspense and anticipation, we FINALLY know the gender of our baby! We are pleased to announce that Baby Walker is a...

It was soooo much fun making this gender reveal/announcement video. It definitely made up for the disappointment of not being able to have the gender reveal party we had planned originally! :-D And now that we know the gender of our little baby, it all feels so much more real! I don't have to refer to my little baby as an "it" anymore! Praise the Lord!
